History of the Jeep Brand

In 1941, the Jeep legacy began with Willy’s MB, which had been tested in the war. Jeep pioneered 4×4 capabilities with the legendary off-road vehicles designed with the toughness and ruggedness needed to spearhead American forces in the war effort. So, from four-wheel pioneering to four-wheel electric pioneering, Jeep is poised to make some more waves in the electric vehicle movement.

The Jeep Recon

Inspired by the popular Jeep Wrangler, Recon is designed to take you on an electric adventure. The Recon is fully electrified, and it utilizes Jeep’s legendary 4×4 technology now called Jeep 4xe. Jeep’s latest 4×4 advancement increases on-demand torque for maximum traction as you head out for the peace and quiet in the wilderness of your off-road adventure. Recon will get you about 373 miles on the highway or trail on a single fully electric charge.

Wagoneer “S”

Wagoneer’s comfort, convenience, and technology can now be yours in a fully electric compact SUV called the Wagoneer “S”. Available in 2024, the Wagoneer’s “S” designation is merely a placeholder until Wagoneer gives a different designation, but whether “S” or something new and different, you’ll experience that signature Wagoneer vibe when you climb behind the wheel of the new full-electric Wagoneer that offers 400 miles on a full charge.

Hybrid Electric Jeep Vehicles

Jeep did not stop with full-electric vehicles, but the brand is also expanding its hybrid lineup. If you don’t want to go full green yet, you can choose between two hybrids available from the Jeep brand.  If you want the best of both capability and efficiency in a Jeep hybrid, you can look for the Wrangler 4xe and the Grand Cherokee 4xe.

The class-exclusive Plug-In Hybrid technology found in the Jeep Wrangler 4xe offers 49 miles MPGE estimated mileage to give you a 370 total mile range on a full tank and full charge which includes 21 miles of fully electric range. The Jeep Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) Grand Cherokee 4xe offers a 470 total mile range on a full tank and full charge, 25 of which is an all-electric range. The Grand Cherokee 4xe is still a powerhouse with up to 6,000 lb. towing capacity and 56 MPGE mileage.
