Wagoneer vs. Grand Wagoneer

Wagoneer vs. Grand Wagoneer

The reintroduction of the 2022 Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer has the Jeep world very excited. The Wagoneer has long been considered the first-ever modern-day SUV. And as such, it has been setting the bar for the luxury full-size SUVs. And the new models are sure to add to the strong reputation. Customers are already visiting Victory CDJR of Ottawa to place their orders to ensure a summer 2021 delivery for their dream SUV.

Base and Top End Pricing

While far from what most consider a base model, the Wagoneer will have a starting price of $59,995 and will stay under $100,000 even when fully loaded. But the much-enhanced Grand Wagoneer will start at $88,995 and top out at $109,980 when fully decked.

On the Exterior

Both SUVs are built on the same frame and body using a high-strength steel safety cage. So drivers will find the seating and cargo capacities much the same. But different finishes, trims, and options create two very different looks for the Wagoneer and the Grand Wagoneer. The most noticeable of these upgrades is that the Grand Wagoneer is offered in three colors, while the Wagoneer is limited to silver.

Other upgrades to the Grand exterior include more refined LED lights, additional chrome enhancements and features, an all-black roof, and more accentuated fender flares. Features that these two SUVs share include a selection of wheel options ranging from 18 inches to 22 inches in size with various finishes and retractable running boards. The running board difference is that they are included in the Grand model's standard equipment package but are an option for the Wagoneer.

Under the Hood

A V-8 engine and automatic eight-speed transmission are included in the generous standard equipment package for each SUV. The Wagoneer has a 5.7L engine with cylinder deactivation and hybrid assist features. The standard equipment delivers 404 foot-pounds of torque and 392 horsepower. And when you are ready to hook up a trailer, the Wagoneer equipped with the tow package can handle 10,000 pounds.

The Grand has an upgraded 6.4L V-8 engine that puts 471 horsepower and 455 foot-pounds of torque in your control. This model also includes the same cylinder deactivation feature. This extremely powerful four-wheel drive also offers some pep as it can go from 0 to 60 in just six seconds.

The Interior

The Grand Wagoneer interior is filled with all the luxury and comfort you would expect from a premium luxury SUV in the $100k price range. The options, finishes, and features are nothing but the best. It is the Wagoneer but better. However, the Wagoneer still remains one of the favored luxury SUVs in class with exceptional comfort and convenience. Both SUVs can be configured to seat seven or eight passengers using either two rows of captain's chairs or two rows or bench seating. The Wagoneer offers the bench seating standard, while the Grand Wagoneer includes the second-row captain's chairs.
